Combines surgically implanted vagus nerve stimulation with in-clinic physical therapy to improve upper limb function for chronic ischemic stroke survivors who continue to have moderate to severe hand and arm impairment after active rehabilitation. The device is implanted during an outpatient procedure, followed by a one-week recovery and in-clinic therapy. At-home therapy can include magnet-activated stimulation during rehabilitation exercises and routine activities. Surgery and rehabilitation are covered through most insurances.
