A neurostimulation service for chronic ischemic stroke survivors with persistent moderate to severe hand and arm impairment despite active physical therapy. The service includes outpatient surgical implantation of the VNS device, same-day discharge, in-clinic physical therapy paired with wireless VNS stimulation after a one-week recovery period, and magnet-activated VNS during at-home rehabilitation exercises and routine activities. Vagus nerve stimulation surgery and rehabilitation is covered through most insurances.
