Details.
A neurostimulation service for chronic ischemic stroke survivors with persistent moderate to severe hand and arm impairment after physical therapy. It includes outpatient surgical implantation of an FDA-approved device under the skin in the upper left chest, followed by in-clinic physical therapy paired with wireless VNS stimulation after a one-week recovery. Patients may also activate VNS at home during rehabilitation exercises and routine activities. Surgery and rehabilitation are covered through most insurances.
