Combines an FDA-approved implanted vagus nerve stimulation device with in-clinic physical therapy to improve hand and arm function for chronic ischemic stroke survivors who have persistent moderate to severe upper limb impairment after active rehabilitation. Includes outpatient device implantation, in-clinic rehabilitation beginning after a one-week recovery period, and magnet-activated VNS during at-home rehabilitation exercises and daily activities. Surgery and rehabilitation are covered through most insurances.
