A neurostimulation service for chronic ischemic stroke survivors with persistent moderate to severe hand and arm impairment after physical therapy. The service includes outpatient implantation of a VNS device, in-clinic physical therapy paired with vagus nerve stimulation, and magnet-activated VNS during at-home rehabilitation activities. Patients are discharged the same day after implantation and resume in-clinic physical therapy after a one-week recovery. Most insurance plans cover the surgery and rehabilitation.
