Details.
A neurostimulation service combining an outpatient VNS device implantation with in-clinic physical therapy and at-home rehabilitation exercises. Intended for chronic ischemic stroke survivors who have persistent moderate to severe hand and arm impairment after active physical therapy. The device is implanted under the skin in the upper left chest, followed by a one-week recovery period before in-clinic therapy. During physical therapy, stimulation is paired with specific tasks, and a magnet activator can be used during rehabilitation exercises and routine activities at home. Surgery and rehabilitation are covered through most insurances.
