Specialised physiotherapy to improve or restore the functions of the pelvic floor muscles and urogenital organs. Used for incontinence, bladder emptying disorders, pelvic floor weakness after pregnancy, childbirth or surgery, and chronic or acute pelvic pain. Treatment includes an assessment and physical examination, followed by an individually tailored treatment plan. Methods may include pelvic floor training, manual therapy, behavioural therapy advice, biofeedback and electrotherapy.
