Details.
A transvaginal, also known as TV or internal, ultrasound examination using a narrow ultrasound transducer gently inserted into the vagina to obtain detailed images of pelvic structures. It is usually performed immediately after a transabdominal ultrasound assessment, with an empty bladder. The examination is performed with your consent, which may be withdrawn at any time, and you may have a support person present. Please advise the sonographer if you have a latex allergy. Some women may experience a small amount of spotting afterwards.
