A less invasive procedure for selected patients with severe mitral regurgitation. The MitraClip device is implanted through a small incision in the groin to join the mitral valve leaflets and reduce leakage. Imaging techniques, including three-dimensional transesophageal echocardiography, are used to assess candidacy and monitor progress. The procedure typically takes one to three hours and may take longer depending on case complexity.
