A less invasive mitral valve repair procedure for eligible patients with severe degenerative or functional mitral regurgitation, including patients at high risk for conventional heart surgery. The MitraClip device is implanted through a small incision in the groin to bring the mitral valve leaflets together. Mount Sinai uses advanced imaging techniques, including three-dimensional transesophageal echocardiography, to select candidates and monitor progress.
