A less invasive mitral valve repair procedure that uses a MitraClip device to join the mitral valve leaflets and reduce leakage. The procedure is performed through a small incision in the groin. Sophisticated imaging techniques, including three-dimensional transesophageal echocardiography, are used to select candidates and monitor progress. Suitable for certain patients with severe mitral regurgitation, including high-risk surgical candidates.
