A less invasive mitral valve repair procedure for selected patients with severe degenerative mitral regurgitation who are at high risk for conventional heart surgery. The MitraClip device is implanted through a small incision in the groin to bring the mitral valve leaflets together. Patient selection and progress are evaluated using sophisticated imaging techniques, including three-dimensional transesophageal echocardiography.
