A catheter-based treatment option for patients with severe, symptomatic aortic stenosis, including patients at extreme, high, intermediate, or low surgical risk. The Mount Sinai Hospital evaluates patients with a heart team and uses imaging techniques including three-dimensional echocardiography and four-dimensional computed tomography to support valve placement and reduce complications. Conscious sedation may be used in appropriate cases, with discharge planning, patient education, medication adherence, follow-up, and coordination with the patient's cardiologist and primary care physician supporting recovery and outcomes.
