A teen mentoring program for adolescents typically ages 14 to 21, with or without an autism diagnosis, who mentor younger children on the autism spectrum. The program runs from September through May and includes monthly social, recreational, and community service events, plus training in mentoring, leadership, goal setting, and planning for the future. Mentees are typically children ages 9 to 13 with an autism diagnosis who want to participate in group events and develop social, communication, and relationship skills. Participants cannot require 1:1 staffing or engage in aggressive or self-injurious behavior.
