Provides assistance for people who require ongoing support at home, including help with personal care, meal preparation and cooking, household tasks, medication reminders, daily routines, appointments, community activities, life skills, independence, confidence and social connections. Support may be shared with others in the home or provided one-to-one, with support available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week if needed. Generally suited to people who require a higher level of daily support, regular assistance with everyday activities, ongoing supervision or structured support to live more independently. SIL funding covers support workers and daily assistance, but does not cover rent or mortgage payments, groceries, personal shopping, utility bills or general household expenses.
