Details.

A procedure involving injection of local anaesthetic into the sympathetic nerves on one side of the neck. It may be used to temporarily disable pain signals, treat pain in the head, face, neck, chest or arm, treat neuropathic pain syndromes, or address circulatory problems of the upper limb. An IV line may be used for anaesthesia or sedation, followed by injection through a thin needle. Around one hour of observation is required after the procedure. Do not eat or drink before the procedure, avoid other medical procedures within 48 hours before or after, and do not drive yourself to or from the appointment or drive for 24 hours afterwards. A 24-hour pain diary and follow-up appointment are required.
