Botulinum toxin is injected into the bulky component of the trapezius muscle to create a more angular neck-shoulder junction and the appearance of a longer neck. Treatments are repeated every 3 to 6 months, more frequently initially until the desired effect is achieved. Maximum effect is reached in approximately 8 weeks.
