Some discomfort is possible and numbing cream is available. Avoid active ingredients for 1 week and chemical peels for at least 2 weeks before treatment. After treatment, avoid cosmetics for 48 hours, active or exfoliating products for up to 5 days, direct sun exposure for up to 48 hours and exercise or excessive perspiration for 72 hours.
