Surgical treatment for squamous cell carcinoma, invasive basal cell carcinoma and melanoma. The affected lesion is removed under local or topical anaesthetic with a margin of nearby normal-looking tissue, then usually sent to pathology for examination. Results are available in about a week. Aftercare may include a waterproof dressing and a follow-up visit for dressing changes.
