Details.
Rehabilitation for singers with pathologies affecting the vocal folds. The process includes establishing a medical baseline with a laryngologist who can perform a stroboscopic exam, taking a detailed medical and voice history, and developing a plan based on the singer’s goals and pathology. Concomitant speaking voice therapy may be needed. Treatment areas include vocal nodules, polyps, cysts and pseudocysts, hemorrhages, sulcus, atrophy and aging voice, muscle tension dysphonia, Reinke’s edema, paresis and paralysis, neurolaryngeal hypersensitivity, laryngeal dystonia, chronic cough, and vocal fold tremor.
