Compression with bandages or stockings is important after treatment. Microinjections are virtually painless, although the solution may cause a mild sting for several seconds and larger treated veins may feel sore for several days. Further treatment may be required if new veins form, and some patients may need 1 to 2 maintenance treatments each year for recurring spider veins.
