Paediatric therapists visit children in mainstream or special schools with consent from the parent or carer and the school. The visit may include attending a school meeting, providing therapy on site, collaborating with teachers, aides or therapists, reviewing classroom setup to optimise physical functioning and safety, advising on physical handling, discussing physical and non-physical progress, conducting an assessment to support a funding application, assisting with an equipment prescription trial, providing a second opinion, and developing the capacity of school staff to support the child and cater to disabilities.
