Details.
A well-tolerated procedure using ultrasound and sterile fluid to evaluate the uterus, including the shape of the uterine cavity, the uterine lining, and ovaries. It can investigate abnormal uterine bleeding, infertility, recurrent miscarriages, congenital uterine abnormalities, and suspected polyps, scar tissue, fibroids, or a uterine septum. SHG may cause mild cramping, spotting, or vaginal discharge. It should not be performed during pregnancy or suspected pregnancy, or with an active pelvic infection.
