Details.
A well-tolerated procedure using ultrasound and sterile fluid to evaluate the uterus, uterine cavity, endometrial lining, and ovaries. It can investigate abnormal uterine bleeding, infertility, recurrent miscarriages, congenital uterine abnormalities, suspected polyps or scar tissue, and abnormalities found during a routine ultrasound. Mild cramping, spotting, and vaginal discharge may occur. Ibuprofen or other medication may be recommended before the procedure. SHG should not be performed during pregnancy or suspected pregnancy, or with an active pelvic infection.
