Details.

A well-tolerated ultrasound procedure using sterile fluid to evaluate the uterus, especially the shape of the uterine cavity, endometrial lining, and ovaries. Used to investigate abnormal uterine bleeding, infertility, recurrent miscarriages, uterine abnormalities, polyps, suspected scar tissue, fibroids, uterine septum, and adhesions. SHG should not be performed during pregnancy or suspected pregnancy, or with an active pelvic infection. Mild cramping, spotting, and vaginal discharge may occur, and some women experience cramping for several hours afterward.
