Details.
A well-tolerated procedure using ultrasound and sterile fluid to evaluate the uterus, especially the shape of the uterine cavity, endometrial cavity, and ovaries. It may be used to investigate abnormal uterine bleeding, infertility, recurrent miscarriages, congenital uterine abnormalities, suspected polyps or scar tissue, and abnormalities found during a routine ultrasound. Mild cramping, spotting, and vaginal discharge may occur. The procedure should not be performed during pregnancy or suspected pregnancy, or with an active pelvic infection.
