A well-tolerated procedure using ultrasound and sterile fluid to evaluate the uterus, uterine cavity, endometrial lining, and ovaries. It may be used to investigate abnormal uterine bleeding, infertility, recurrent miscarriages, uterine abnormalities, polyps, suspected scar tissue, and other cavity abnormalities. The procedure should not be performed during pregnancy, suspected pregnancy, or an active pelvic infection.
