A two-stage treatment for bladder and bowel control problems, including faecal incontinence. The evaluation phase uses a temporary wire and external stimulator to assess symptom improvement over a two-week home evaluation. If successful, a neurostimulator and lead are implanted. The evaluation procedure normally takes less than an hour and is generally a day procedure. Suitability is assessed by a faecal incontinence specialist.
