Legal Aid Ontario may pay for a lawyer to help eligible people in Ontario with their refugee status application. The lawyer interviews you, advises on information for the Basis of Claim form, helps ensure it is complete and accurate, explains it through an interpreter before signing, advises on documents for the hearing, helps you prepare, and attends the hearing with you.
