Legal Aid Ontario pays a lawyer to help eligible people in Ontario with their refugee claim. The lawyer interviews you, advises you about the information to include in your Basis of Claim form, checks that the form is complete and accurate, explains it to you, advises which documents to obtain, helps you prepare for the hearing, and attends the hearing with you. Interpretation for meetings and translation of documents into English or French may also be covered.
