Posterior Cervical Fusion Surgery

at Dr Jeffrey Brennan · Sydney

Details.

A procedure that joins spinal bones using internal fixation or instrumentation, such as screws, rods, or plates, together with bone grafting or bone graft substitutes. It aims to restore spinal stability, correct deformity, prevent further injury, or reconstruct the spine after decompression. Recovery may take longer than decompression alone and can depend on the extent of deformity and the number of levels treated. Patients are generally in hospital for one to two nights, with the remainder of recovery similar to microdiscectomy.
