Ultrasound-guided PRP injection treatment for pain associated with degenerative joint and tendon problems, including osteoarthritis, tennis elbow and plantar fasciitis. Treatment involves drawing blood, preparing platelet-rich plasma in a centrifuge, and injecting it into the affected joint or tendon. The appointment lasts around 45 minutes and includes 20 minutes of observation afterwards. The typical programme consists of 3 injections, usually 2 weeks apart. Patients are advised to stay well hydrated, avoid NSAIDs for 1 week before and 4 weeks after treatment, avoid strenuous exercise for 5 days afterwards, and consider resting for 5 to 7 days. Not offered to patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
