Nurse-led home care for people fed through a PEG or another feeding tube. Trained carers set up and give feeds according to the dietitian's plan, flush the tube before and after feeds and medicines, give prescribed medicines through the tube where the plan allows, care for the stoma and check the skin, recognise and act on blocked or dislodged tubes, and keep pumps and giving sets clean and safe. Care is delivered under a written nurse-led plan, with carers trained and competency-checked for the specific tube and feeding regime.
