Removal of the offending side or sides of an ingrown toenail under local anaesthetic, followed by phenol acid treatment to prevent regrowth. The procedure usually takes around 35 minutes. Patients can walk in and out, are advised to put their feet up for the rest of the day, and can usually resume normal activities the next day. Full healing usually takes 4 to 6 weeks. Aftercare is included.
