Optimal Power Energy intense pulsed light treatment for dry eye and meibomian gland dysfunction. Applied to the lower eyelid area in a number of short bursts to stimulate contraction of the meibomian glands and improve meibum oil production. Particularly appropriate for patients with rosacea or inflammation around the eyelids. Usually provided as a course of two to four treatments, typically five to ten days apart. Avoid sun exposure, solar lamps and self-tanning products for 15 to 20 days before and after treatment. Contact lenses must be removed during treatment.
