Details.
A custom-made filling made of composite material, gold, or tooth-coloured porcelain, created by a professional dental laboratory and permanently cemented onto the tooth by a dentist. Onlays can conservatively repair teeth with large defective fillings or damage from decay or trauma, and are an alternative to crowns because less tooth structure is removed. The procedure usually requires two appointments: impressions and a temporary restoration at the first appointment, followed by cementing and bite adjustments at the second. Care instructions are provided after treatment.
