Surgical removal of a neuroma for chronic cases that have not responded to conservative treatment. The procedure is described as quick, with the diseased portion of the nerve removed through an incision on the top of the foot. Patients may walk right away in a postoperative shoe or CAM boot. Stitches are removed after 10 days, after which patients can get the foot wet and walk in sneakers. Postoperative protocols vary by patient.
