Details.
Minor surgical procedures are provided by trained GPs where clinically appropriate. Procedures may include laceration management, skin lesion biopsies and removals, excisions, curettage, wound repair, removal of cysts or ingrown toenails, and long-acting reversible contraception insertion and removal. The GP discusses the procedure, potential risks and aftercare requirements. Follow-up care, pathology review or referral may be arranged where required.
