Minimally Invasive Direct Coronary Artery Bypass (MIDCAB)

at The Keyhole Heart Clinic · London

Details.

A keyhole bypass procedure used when one coronary artery, usually the left anterior descending artery, needs to be bypassed. The surgeon accesses the heart through a small incision between the ribs, typically 6 to 10 cm long, and usually uses the left internal mammary artery as the graft. The procedure is generally performed while the heart is beating, avoiding the need for a heart-lung machine.
