Details.
Oral desensitisation treatment for children with milk allergy, using gradually increasing amounts of baked or plain milk under medical supervision. Includes suitability assessment, an introductory session with a specialist dietician, treatment initiation, supervised updosing visits, ongoing support, maintenance guidance and recommended annual follow-up. Daily home dosing is required during treatment, and parents are trained to manage allergic reactions and use an adrenaline auto-injector. The treatment is not suitable for everyone, including children with poorly controlled asthma, certain severe reactions or an inability to commit to reliable daily dosing.
