Details.
A doctor consultation to assess whether you have a mental disorder and whether a treatment plan would benefit you. Together, you and your doctor discuss your goals and outline the steps to achieve them. A Mental Health Care Plan may cover conditions including depression, anxiety disorder, stress, schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. Eligible plans provide Medicare rebates for up to 10 individual and 10 group sessions with certain allied mental health services each year, including psychologists, occupational therapists and social workers. After the first 6 sessions, a follow-up appointment with your doctor is necessary to review the plan and receive a referral for additional sessions if required.
