Marsupialisation of Bartholin Cyst

at Happiher by Dr Manou Kaur — Private Gynaecologist (The Lister Hospital) · London

Details.

A definitive surgical procedure for recurrent Bartholin's cysts or abscesses. The cyst is drained and its wall is stitched to the surrounding skin to create a permanent drainage pathway. Typically performed as a day-case procedure under general anaesthesia, with the surgery usually completed within 30 minutes. Same-day discharge, aftercare instructions and a follow-up appointment are provided. Mild discomfort and light bleeding are normal after the procedure. Warm sitz baths are recommended for a few days, and sexual intercourse, tampons and swimming should be avoided for approximately 4 to 6 weeks while the area heals.
