Details.
MRI creates images of organs and body structures to assist with medical evaluation. The examination may involve multiple scans and, when required, injection of a contrast agent into a vein or directly into a joint for orthopaedic purposes. Patients should continue usual medications unless instructed otherwise, remove jewellery and other accessories, and inform the medical team about metallic prostheses, implants, pacemakers, artificial heart valves or pregnancy. Examinations take between 30 and 90 minutes.
