Details.
A minimally invasive, in-office procedure that uses a thin, looped wire and controlled electrical current to remove genital warts or abnormal tissue from the vaginal canal or cervix for evaluation. A local anesthetic is used, and tissue may be sent to a lab. Patients may experience mild cramping, light bleeding, or vaginal discharge during recovery. Pads, rather than tampons, should be used as needed, and sexual intercourse and douching should be avoided during the initial recovery period.
