Laser energy is converted into heat and absorbed by the pigment in the hair follicles. The treatment is described as virtually pain-free and suitable for all skin types, Fitzpatrick 1 to 6, and fine, thick or coarse hair. It is not advised for blonde or grey hair. A course of 6 to 12 treatments may result in no regrowth for years. Red hair may require a longer course of 12 to 14 treatments.
