The treatment can relax 50 to 90 percent of curl depending on hair texture, while preserving volume and allowing the use of a curling iron or round brush. Results typically last 10 to 12 weeks and gradually wash out. Color can be performed on the same day, or two weeks after the treatment. Aftercare includes using the salon's recommended products and washing approximately three times per week when possible. Swimming is permitted, though chlorine and salt water may reduce longevity. The Pure Brazilian type has no waiting period before washing, while other types require a three-day waiting period. The service is not recommended for pregnant clients without medical approval.
