A minimally invasive procedure for puppies at risk of hip dysplasia. Best performed before full skeletal maturity, between 16 and 20 weeks of age. The surgery modifies pelvic development to improve hip joint alignment and stability. It involves a small abdominal incision and electroscalpel treatment of the pelvic growth plate. Recovery is typically short, with return to normal activities around 10 days after surgery. A consultation and assessment are required.
