Details.

Orthodontic expansion or widening of the jaws for children up to 15 years of age. Treatment may use a removable appliance or an appliance glued in place. Commonly used between ages 8 and 12 to correct a narrow upper jaw, crossbite or mild crowding. Includes taking a dental impression, constructing a custom fitted expander appliance with a midline expansion screw, fitting the appliance and directed screw adjustments. Expanders are usually worn for 6 to 12 months.
