Insertion of copper or hormonal IUDs onsite in a dedicated procedure room. The procedure is performed by a doctor with a practice nurse present, and may include local anaesthetic, vaginal swabs, and a Cervical Screening Test if due. A referral from a GP is required to schedule an appointment. Patients are advised to avoid intercourse and tampons for 48 hours after insertion.
