iStent Infinite

at Dr George Kong · Melbourne

Details.

A minimally invasive glaucoma surgery procedure using three titanium microstents inserted into the natural drainage channel inside the eye, at the same time as cataract surgery or as a standalone procedure. The procedure aims to lower eye pressure and reduce the need for glaucoma medications. It is performed under local anaesthetic through a 2 mm incision and usually takes minutes. Before surgery, patients may be instructed to continue usual medications and fast immediately before the procedure. After surgery, antibiotics and anti-inflammatory eye drops may be prescribed for up to one month, and glaucoma drops may need to be resumed over time.
